Elisa Mobiilivarmenne is a mobile authentication service, which can be used instead of bank sign-in, and is recommened to use in most cases.
The project started off from a baseline of remaking the old, over 10 years old design, into a modern look, with support for updated technology in concurrent SIM-cards and eSIMs.
There is quite a lot of steps in making a certificate, and accounting for different variants and cases was complex, but early wireframes and working with the developers helped making the user flow.
For the user, I wish there would be a simpler way of making a certificate. There are a lot of security, backend, and database concenrs that require steps, and they need to be in a specific sequence.
Biggest hurdle in the design process was not the user flow, even though it is quite complex. The most time was spent on the languages, wording, and text clarity. I went lots of rounds with lots of different people trying to find the best and most clear sentence for the screens, and I am very grateful for my collaegues for the immence help.
The project is ongoing, but the design work is done, though I am on call if tasks pop up.
